The Path

What does it mean to follow the Path of Anšar?

To follow the Path of Anšar is to be aware of and concerned with the well-being of all sentient life. Followers of Anšar may also be known as Light Workers/Light Bearers, empathic souls, healers or 'old souls' - those who exhibit insight or embody wisdom beyond their years (often from a young age). Their purpose on Earth is to deepen the conscious awareness of humanity, by encouraging and promoting love, peace and healing, on all levels. They primarily achieve this through their heightened empathic sense, which not only allows them to sense the emotional states of others but can facilitate the transformation of their own fears, pain and suffering - and eventually that of other sentient beings. By learning various healing techniques and honing their ability, this can extend to help resolve conflict, tension and destruction both locally and ultimately globally, particularly in communion with other empaths and by utilising specific tools and resources. Those who follow the Path typically begin by healing the Self, including childhood trauma and sometimes genetic or past life wounds, before beginning to assist in healing others and various causes. Yet healing is a continual process and by healing others, we may also heal parts of our Self.

EMPATHS

Individuals born with a highly developed empathic sense often have a strong affinity for Nature and an innate desire to help and heal other sentient beings (and the planet). A preference for peace, unity and accord is also prevalent, as well as a deep belief in divinity/a Divine Source or an underlying sentience in the Cosmos. Empaths, as they may commonly be known, are naturally drawn to people and places in need thus can become expert counsellors and therapists, teachers and mediators, medical professionals, vets or humanitarians. Many are attracted to volunteering or working in teaching and caring professions or with the animal kingdom, given the mutual affinity between empaths and all sentient life, as well as environmentalism and its related fields. Others may be drawn to troubled places or areas of conflict and unrest where they can help to ease suffering. However, given their heightened sensitivity, most prefer to avoid prominent roles in society (this can be managed effectively by learning shielding techniques). And yet, wherever they may be, their skills can be put to great and efficient use. An attraction to ancient teachings and texts is also common, particularly those of Eastern spirituality, which provide avenues to truth and the deeper meaning of existence. Thus meditation, shamanic practices, forms of yoga and alternative healing modalities, such as Reiki, are all highly appealing. Many are instinctively drawn to such healing practices and therapies upon reaching early adulthood, sometimes beforehand, most likely to begin their own healing process. But an empathic sense can initially make life exceptionally difficult to manage and is still widely misunderstood today.

Challenges

From a young age, empaths may be perceived as overly-sentimental, hypersensitive, feeble or even cowardly. However, this is a misunderstanding of their empathic gifts, which are essential for their work and destined role of helping to raise the vibration of humanity and the planet. But without this awareness and guidance, they can be easily overwhelmed by the pain and suffering of others and the general turmoil and destruction occurring on Earth, to which they are highly attuned and sensitive. This can result in exasperated fears, frequent low moods, recurring bouts of anxiety and periods of isolation. In turn, this contributes to toxic feelings and emotional chaos. If left unchecked, adulthood can bring phobias and depression, damaged self-esteem, recurring physical ailments, paranoia, psychosomatic and other mental health disorders. In extreme cases, empaths may shun the healer/helper role and succumb to negative escapism or numbing of their feelings through intoxication. However, such emotional states are a strong indication that urgent care and attention are needed for empaths are not meant to experience physical existence in this way. Thus it is vitally important for them to reach out and connect with other empathic souls, both for support and to learn techniques in shielding, protecting and strengthening one's own abilities. This, in turn, enables the vital work of healing and raising the frequency of Love. The current climate has also given rise to the ridicule of empaths, with misguided attempts to shame and oppress such individuals. For instance, use of the term snowflake in reference to a person(s) perceived by others to be hypersensitive, fragile or easily offended and unable to cope with challenges, opposition, rejection or the 'harshness' of reality. This term is now being applied to an entire generation, which is no coincidence given that empathy is becoming an increasingly important and emergent human trait, with a role not yet fully realised or understood.

Evolution

The 'harshness of the real world' is now a defunct and irrelevant perception of how we live on Earth. It is a product of the old paradigm mind-set, i.e., a former collective way of thinking and behaving, which dominated humanity for millennia, but now no longer serves our evolutionary process or the planet. Humanity is currently evolving from its duality mind-set - which produced a society based on divisive thinking, exploitation and tribalism - to a more unified consciousness, where collaboration, unity and harmony with others and the planet are now key for our survival (aided by the strengthening of our empathic sense). Although this notion may be regarded as naive or an unrealistic utopia, it is an essential progression in our collective evolution. For the Earth can simply no longer sustain humanity in its current state of existence, that is, exploiting other species, consuming excessive amounts of resources and the destruction of the environment for selfish gain. Humanity is entirely capable of learning to live in harmony with the planet, once more, although it may be a difficult transition for many; this change will occur more easily as greater numbers of empathic individuals emerge. The consequences of society persisting with the old paradigm are increasingly evident: growing unrest, anxiety, depression, narcissism, loneliness, suicide and conflict. All of these states can be resolved in a society with heightened empathy. The Earth, too, is showing symptoms of our species perpetuating the old paradigm; the dramatically changing climate, an otherwise natural process, has been exacerbated by detrimental human activity. Without the necessary shift to the new paradigm, extreme climate events will occur with increasing frequency and actively reduce the human population. This is not akin to punishment from a deity, as commonly purported in religious texts, but a logical necessity for the Earth simply cannot continue to support our current rate of consumption with an increasing population. No other species on the planet exploits resources or damages the environment as humans do now; essentially, we have become unbalanced. Although this was perhaps an inevitability, given our unique and relatively rapid development and dominance on the planet, we must now find ways to adapt to a harmonious existence. Those feeling compelled to reject empaths or a heightened empathic sense are (perhaps unwittingly) still operating in the old-paradigm mindset. The mass transformation in how we think, feel and behave is both necessary and inevitable for our survival and indeed for the survival of all other sentient life on this planet (other species are experiencing similar changes in behaviour consistent with their evolution). For humanity, those who continue to act from a fear-based mindset (the old paradigm) are the individuals experiencing most difficulty with this transition. This ultimately stems from a fear of confronting one's own wounds, which must be healed and transmuted in order to function in the new paradigm; embracing the deep changes taking place for both humanity and the planet, which can be challenging for those who struggle to let go of familiarity and the former way of living; and embracing unconditional love, which can be difficult to accept and receive for those with damaged self-esteem. Indeed, individuals deemed hypersensitive may in fact be the very ones to help others along. For the truth is that empaths are far from incapable and weak, but some of the strongest and most emotionally resilient individuals alive at this time.

Support

Empaths are capable of offering genuine, healing support to others yet must also seek support for themselves. Frequent interaction with those of a similar nature is beneficial. A sense of community or family is important for helping to establish inner peace and for cultivating a more robust empathic ability. Additionally, establishing an empathic community - whether physically or virtually, is also vital to provide support and help dissolve the fear, ignorance and shunning of humanities emerging empathic sense. Learning how to protect the natural energy centres of the body (chakras), shielding the auric field (energy surrounding the physical body) and elevating the soul by strengthening one's connection to Source/Divinity - the inner Light or simply Love, are all vital tasks. There are of course many ways to achieve these goals, from simple daily meditations to still the mind, guided and sound healing tracks, advanced trance or shamanic work to heal old wounds, mindfulness to keep one's Ego in check and colour and crystal therapies and attunements in Reiki, or other forms of energy healing work. Such modalities are now widely practiced and available, as more souls become awakened and seek truth and Light. Empaths can easily sense one of their own, just as easily as when they are in the presence of a cruel or destructive ego. Reaching out to those in isolation, from being misunderstood by others or not awakening to their true potential or gifts, is an essential part of the Path of Anšar. Offering healing and unconditional love to animals and Nature is also invaluable and a worthy cause, particularly at this time, as well as assisting more defensive individuals who may be living in irrational fear.
